Lavender MEDITATION Garden

Longtime Sutton clients wanted to create a lavender meditation garden in the meadow on their property, while tying into some existing hardscapes and gardens. The shape of the garden mimics the flow of the ancient glacier that used to flow through the valley, and creates a nice sight line from the existing fire pit area to the mountains beyond. The garden is planted with lavender, allium and native Maximilian sunflowers and a decomposed granite path winds throughout. Local Missoula area and Bitterroot valley black chip, river rock and boulders are used as mulch and accents throughout the planting beds. Custom sculptures by local artists provide focal points from the surrounding seating areas.
